Directions from Chester: Drive westward on Chester Valley Road approximately five miles to Warner Valley Road (County Road 312). Turn right toward Drakesbad and Warner Valley and follow Warner Valley Road 12 miles to the Pacific Crest Trailhead. This road changes to dirt a few miles before reaching the trailhead. It is not recommended for RVs or trailers.

Trail-head didn't exactly match the map, but we found it! Very nice hike, talked to a few PCTers. We had the boiling lake to ourselves to enjoy. Great views!!

Mildly terrifying to listen to all the gasses bubbling and to see all the water bubbling as you hike past. A great display to remind us that Lassen is only asleep but not extinct.
