historic site

The Blythe Intaglios are gigantic (up to 170 feet), prehistoric etchings in the ground, depicting people/gods and animals. They look better from the air than from the ground, but seeing them at ground level gives you some idea of how hard it is to design such figures. The bumpy trail to the intaglios is passable with care in a regular passenger vehicle. Or if you prefer, you can park along Hwy 95 and walk about a mile. Either way, to find the intaglios, look for the chain link fences that surround them. Pretty cool archaeology side trip!

Go just past the intaglios area beyond white wilderness sign. You will find many trails. Sunsets are beautiful as you can look down toward Colorado River. Sunrise highlights the mountains with all trails.

Nothing to see from the ground. Also, any car besides maybe a sports car can drive up the road to the site.
