Blue Mountain Trail is a 3.8 mile heavily trafficked out and back trail located near Grand Terrace, California that features beautiful wild flowers and is rated as moderate. The trail offers a number of activity options and is accessible year-round. Dogs are also able to use this trail but must be kept on leash.
This route can be pretty steep in places and requires climbing over boulders. There are nice views of the buildings and lights down below. Make sure to bring sunscreen and water as shade is limited.
Park at the end of Westwood
Nice drive through town. Not that far off the beaten path
I came here on a Monday afternoon around 4:30PM, and I parked on the road along one other car, wasn’t packed. I initially got a bit lost but ended up asking for directions and got on the right path to the top. Views at the top were pretty good as there was more or less a 360 view, and there weren’t many people on the trail. No shade though so bring enough water. Took me about 40 minutes to reach the top, less to go back down although some parts were a bit steep and slippery. There were more cars when I got down but trail wasn’t crowded at all.
Good incline, nice views, went 10am Monday morning and found easy parking on Westwood St, not many people, came across a few other hikers, trail runners and bikers. Note: There is no shade along the trail
Beautiful! Trail is well-marked, the view from the top is spectacular, and the wildflowers are beautiful right now. Bring water and sun protection, as there’s not a lot of shade. It gets steep in parts but no rock climbing is necessary. Can’t wait to go back! I’d recommend planning your hike for sunset views on the descent.
Hike is really nice with recent showers, this trail shows up as moderate but is primarily an uphill trail to the peak.
This is a short but cool hike that starts at the end of a neighborhood and gradually ascends via a fire road. There are a couple semi-steep portions but they are short. The surrounding area as well as the summit has interesting rock formations. Part of the summit has gated antennas but they don’t ruin tue views. I went when it was overcast and ended up getting rained on during my descent. Enjoy!
Definitely steep inclines and declines majority of the way. Not much shade but beautiful views, greenery and rock formations!
I love this trail. Usually go after work around 6pm have been a couple times now. Have spotted quite a few owls while on our hikes and a coyote as well. Great view of the city. Definitely bring water as this is a for sure moderate level hike. Some steep inclines. But the view is worth it. Rarely see anyone else on the trail early in the evening.
Proverbs 1:33 NIV but whoever listens to me will live in safety and be at ease, without fear of harm.”
Pretty good workout with some good inclines. Nice view up the mountain.
This is a good hike and an even better run for elevation. Beautiful views and very friendly fellow hikers.
