Steep descent to an interesting black sand beach. We went on a colder damp day. Mild amount of garbage on the beach. The East portion had a bit of a strange stink as well. I’m sure it would be nicer on a sunnier warmer day, especially if the beach was cleaner. I could see it as a peaceful place potentially.

Going back up to car was a little harder but other than that nice small hike down to black sands beach. The wooden steps at bottom of hill are a little loose. Staircase is sturdy to beach. Slightly busy. Parking was full.

Great ocean views! One of my favorite “go-to” locations when it’s sunny and warm.

The trail itself has some beautiful views of the Pacific. The beach was pretty empty for a hot, sunny day. The ascent back up is tough.

Wonderful hike, super short and anyone can do this, just take breaks if you need to on the way up. Great views and quiet private seeming.

Beautiful views but you’ve got to be prepared for the ascent as it’s a steep incline. Give yourself plenty of time to both go down and come back up. Beach was fairly busy but still didn’t take away from the beauty.

I accessed Upper Fisherman's Trail from the Coastal Trail at the top of Conzelman Road. There are 296 steps down to the road where you access the rest of the trail to the beach. Some great views and the steps are a quick workout. The trail map showing 0.5mi is not quite right as the rest of the trail to the top is not included. Great trail, doesn't take much time, but good to be in shape for the ascent!
