This trail is very steep and a very good workout for the 1/2 of a mile I was allowed to continue up because the remainder was blocked off by bobwire fencing. apparently private property. Not recommended to drive a lengthy distance to hike this trail. gonna go try tehachapi mountain park trail.

The views are beautiful this time of year(early spring) and there was still a lot of snow we passed on the way to the summit. It is a very steep incline almost all of the trail and it's 2.5 miles to the top so if you are a amateur hiker I recommend a walking stick or hiking poles. There were scenic stops along the way to the summit where we took pictures. The campsite wasn't open when we went so we parked next to the first restrooms in a turnout and had to walk about half a mile to the trail. Great trail for dogs but maybe not for toddlers because of the steepness. There were also very few people on this trail. We saw about two other hikers and two other families.

Great stop to stretch our legs while driving through the area.

I loved this hike. it's fairly short but a real ass kicker. The trail is very steep the whole way up, but if your up for it, it is well worth it for the views. I did this on a chilly day, and it was quite windy along the ridge lines. There are very few trees, so the views incredible in every direction. make sure to sign the summit register if you summit. Nice trail, offering great views of the Tehachapi Valley that improve as you ascend.
Note, however, that No Trespassing signs have been posted about 1/3 of the way to the summit, and that to continue upward from this point you must climb over a barbed wire fence.
