There was a fence at the top so had to make a detour.

Beautiful and quite trail system for family...with nice climbs and dips. Excellent tri-valley views and nice breeze specially on partially cloudy day. Best view was Mount Diablo in cloud. We climbed up on Grey Fox (wide) to Redtail and returned on Stream View (narrow). Experience open to sky as well as through the the trees in single loop...bring your own water...no benches/restrooms... good for cool (60s) days.

a couple of the steepest hills I’ve ever done. it’s a nice and quiet hike with many gradual ups and downs (in addition to a couple extremely steep hills). very open, gives beautiful views of San Ramon and the surrounding area. some parts slightly over grown but for the most part, well maintained. took about an hour and twenty minutes.

Some spots with shade, but mostly no shade. Lots of up hill and down hill. Come here if you’re ready to sweat it out!

A nice trail with decent elevation changes and pretty views. The second loop, however, was separated by a barbed wire fence. We saw cows, deer, and turkeys.

We enjoyed the views & wildlife. Red hawk, deer & turkeys during our hike! Didn’t encounter many people yet everyone we met was friendly. Bring some water!

Not my favorite hike. I climbed over 2 gates and it made me feel like I was trespassing. Walking through peoples yards it felt. Pretty steep hill in the beginning and lots of hills up and down. With the mud it felt pretty slippery. I would recommend walking sticks.

This trail has some steep climbs. I would not recommend it after the rain. The mud that collects on the bottom of you shoe is unreal. Great for off leash pups when the cows aren’t grazing on the trail. Pretty in the fall when the leaves are lining the pathways. Great views all around. Didn’t know this trail was so close by. Will give it another go in the spring.

Yes, the starting climb from Morgan Dr is very steep and long, and there are a couple other places on the trail that are as well. But we found this climb entirely worth it. Be sure to use hiking shoes (sneakers will be dangerous on these slopes). Trekking poles help tremendously. But the trail itself is wide and smooth. Not much shade except the valley portion (first right of the loop). Views, once the haze clears, of MtDiablo and the valley are terrific. Good for a short 2 hr loop hike. Will try the other trail offshoots next time. Go when its cool (60's) for a more comfortable hike)

This is truly an outstanding trail that is borderline moderate/advanced. In truth, most of it is low level moderate but the first half mile or so is very steep and quite a challenge. Once you have completed that first portion, the trail is relatively flat with beautiful views giving you a good opportunity to chat with friends or listen to a podcast in peace.

To truly follow the trail you have to go through a private fence and then I had to hop over another fence on the north side to go east. Not much shade but a good breeze.
