The "Big Tree Loop" is one of the largest and most accessible of the giant coastal redwoods in the area. If you want a quick walk out to one of the closest big trees, then check out this hike! It's just over a half mile to go around the loop, but you can get to the tree in old a couple minutes from the parking lot if you're toting kids or short for time.

Great trail for a 'park and dash' check in the big tree box! Or so I thought. The trail is short and ideal if like us you don't have much time. However, be prepared to take much longer. The moment you are surrounded by these impressive trees you just have to take a breath (or six) and take in the beauty of your surroundings.

We did this trail and a few little spurs of it. Amazing to be amongst the giant trees, very cool! Seriously, lay on your back and look up at them, only way to truly experience their grandeur!

Go see the Boy Scout Tree, which is further north in Jedediah and much larger than Big Tree.

Pretty awesome hike, not going to lie. Spent two days camping out on the river bed. With all the side trips we ended up hiking a little over 20 miles. Perfect weather, fairly well groomed trails, an awesome family backpacking trip. Also, campfires are allowed on the river bed.

Easy trail. Circles around the big tree. Has a nice little staging area for a picture. The tree is huge. We did see another tree along the cathedral trail which could've been bigger. Trail itself is really easy. Carry water and a map. The redwoods tend to hide some of the rays so caps are not always necessary.

Love this to take friends who can’t walk far. Loop trail goes through quiet green forest with ferns, creeklets, and yes Big trees.

Big Tree in 2012 [not sure if they change this periodically] - 304 ft. high, 21.6 ft. in diameter, 68 feet in circumference, and over 1500 years old... nice flat walking trail that starts and ends at the BIG tree.

A very easy, beautiful walk. Right off the scenic bypass through the park. Definitely worth the quick stop to see Big Tree, and wonder through the majestic Redwood giants!

Gotta see the tree!

Super short but worth the stop. There's little else in the world that feels as amazing as walking through an incredibly dense forest amongst the redwoods. These trees are huge and Big Tree is freakin' gigantic.

Very easy trail for anyone to enjoy, short and other than the "Big Tree" it's just another Redwoods Forest Hike!

Beautiful trail. I had a 6 & 4 year old with me and they loved it. I needed something safe and not too strenuous for the 4 year old. This one was perfect. By the way did I mention how beautiful it was?

Great little trail. It's really short but once you're in you almost feel like you've hiked in miles because the forest is so thick. It's great for a short walk.
