The first few miles where you can easily see the river are beautiful. Otherwise it's just a flat walk along a long old fire road. Feels better suited to trail running, dog walking and leisurely bike rides. Not worth it as a "hike" for 15 miles.

This is nice for a walk and near a beach which is gorgeous. However It’s completely flat with zero terrain. I did the full 16 and all it did was make my feet hurt. I went expecting a hike but I would rather have done 10 and run it. Over all this is very easy.

Great level trail for mountain biking with the family, and the dog! Beautiful views of the river through redwood and mixed forest. Easy access from the freeway. Will repeat!

Fabulous. Saw hardly any people on a Wednesday in March, but those I did see were smiling. The wildflowers were out, the redwoods were amazing, and my dog and I loved it.

Mountain bikingGreat!

We’ve hiked this trail before, but mountain biked it yesterday. It’s beautiful and a great trail for beginning mountain bikers. There are a couple of forks in the road that aren’t marked, so I’d love to see an actual map of it.

Mountain bikingGreat!

Well used and well loved trail. It was clean and well maintained. Spur of the moment decision to hop on our bikes willy nilly and ride. Such a pleasant day. We kept going and going till we found ourselves on single track. Brambles and nettles gave a little hello every once in awhile but we could see they had been wrangled back for trail maintenance. One of us was on a road bike and did alright. So fun.

Once off the main trail it a ‘single to your own, hike up for about +/- mile. Great view of the hilltop mtn. Once at top it’s a bit of pygmy forest. If you want to beat the crowd it’s a great to your own single track trail in down back to the main trail.

Mountain bikingGreat!

Wide flat trail- old logging road. Good for an easy out and back bike ride. I have a hybrid bike that did great. Went on a sunny Saturday morning. Not too many people when we started around 10am but saw more people on our way back around 11am. Recommend going early to avoid crowds. Large parking lot shared by beach and trail. Trail starts by the bathrooms.

Very easy. Wide road. Took an off shoot trail 3/4 up which was a good incline. Beware of mosquitoes on the trail.

The river that runs alongside the trail is stunning but after a few miles in, it become harder and harder to see. The trail itself is wide and level pretty much the whole way. The end of the trail on AllTrails is weird because it takes you halfway up a random hill for seemingly no reason before stopping abruptly halfway up the hill. All in all, the beginning of the trail is the best part. Because it’s an out and back though, it’s cool to come back and hang by the river— it’s gorgeous.

Easy bike trail that followed the river’s shoulder in and out of Redwood Groves! At the beginning of the trail, there is a slight upgrade for five miles! At that point, we turned around and rode down! Downhill was fast and windy! We’ll be back!
