Perfect for the first timer. Took my 2016 cherokee trailhawk, stock height, stock a/t tires. was a breeze. Did about half the trail as I was alone and not many people out here. Would recommend for a chill off road experience.

Ran this trail last night after just after sunset. Super easy trail with a few paved sections. Three or so sections that a low clearance vehicle may want to be a little careful, but other than that, it’s just a dirt road. Caught the end of the sunset, amazing views.

Jeep WK 4X4 2' RC , Bilstein 4200, 265/70/17. Easy trail with mostly wide roads that are paved in a couple areas. Amazing views. Only saw a half a dozen drivers out. Camp Grounds were full. Great for beginners or just a mellow day out. Planning on coming back for a winter snow run.

Took Big Pine Flat Trail on a Friday evening and there wasn't much traffic, only saw a handful of people out there. It's a very easy trail that my stock-height Subaru Crosstrek handled just fine, there were maybe 3 spots where I had to take it slow. There are parts where the trail switches from dirt, to paved, then back again, but most is unpaved. I wouldn't take a sedan on this trail, but a 2wd truck or SUV with decent clearance should be just fine. This trail is fun, easy and there are some seriously stellar views, so go in the late afternoon/evening to catch the sunset!

Very scenic route. Lots of spurs for additional exploration. My Jeep Rubicon Hardrock didn't even work up a sweat, but there were a few washed out areas that might prove challenging to lower clearance vehicles. I'd rate the difficulty as a 2 with small sections of 3.

Really nice

Awesome winter trail with tons of snow. Any 4x4 can do this imo but must have at least 8.5 inches of ground clearance.

Very cool trail for all levels, went there with my brother and nephew, we all had a wonderful experience. During the ride we ran into a lot of dirt bikes, they all very cool and happy to share the trail with you. We also found couple of camp sites where you can spend a night or two. I highly recommend this trail.

Fun and mild trail, easy to do with any 4 x 4 as long as snow is not too thick. But watch out for some of the banked turns, we watched others slide a few times.

Fun, very beginning has very tight rocky terrain and no more than three quick up and down climbs but smooth there. Once past becomes quick and scenic, dry and dusty when I went so bring appropriate face wraps and LOTS of H2O. All in all pretty fun, lots of parking at trailhead, if your done most ATV and UTV trails then defiantly go. Different terrain than most of the area. Bring maps, see any local ranger and they hand out all local forest maps NO Charge! Remember Forest Adventure pass, buy with buddies, first pass 35 per year and second or more only 5.00 each.
