Denser wooded areas to meadows and even the seasonal lakes if you go further. Has a couple of areas with great views across the range. Spring brings lots of green grass and some wildflowers. Smell of pine is usually pretty heavy in the area. You do share the trail with folks on bikes and horses, so be mindful.

I am trying to get back into riding and this was a great trail to gauge my ability. Not too difficult, but enough technical sections to let me know I need do put in some more work.

What a wonderful experience. Rain, winds and snow made for a thrilling time. Can't wait to do it again. In rain, the trail becomes more of a small creek and water proof boots would be almost a must.

Rare wooded trail in San Diego.. Even saw a deer run by. Not too strenuous, but a beautiful hike.

Mount Laguna has the best hiking in San Diego, and Agua Dulce is no exception. I've hiked and ridden all over this mountain, and the wooded trails like this one are my favorites. The Agua Dulce spur takes you by the old pump house, a pretty neat site if you're into local history. The trail isn't hard, but you'll want a good pair of boots if you're going to do the whole mountain loop, as it's long with a few steep and slippery spots. Bring plenty of water with you too!
