Great fun area to explore in the 4x4 or when hiking. Cool water area with a old dam and pond. Definitely worth checking out.

A little hot in the summer, especially if you have dogs with you. Great views and a cool stairway to view the waterfall.

It would be nicer in the fall. The whole trail is out in the open on an old rugged road. Looks more like an access road with a "road closed" gate at the start.

Great walk for family and pets. Granite views across the gorge are stunning.

We drove this route last month (Sept. of 2013). Very smooth dirt road, which was surprising, considering the remoteness of the area. The trail opens into a fantastic view of the foothills looking toward Auberry as you reach the top of Musik Mountain. There was a huge waterfall with a great deal of water flowing, (I believe this was part of the San Joaquin tributary). For the time of year, this was a huge and wonderful surprise!
