Big Break Regional Shoreline is a part of the great 1,680-square-mile San Francisco/San Joaquin Delta estuary in Northern California. The water flowing past Big Break Regional Shoreline through the Sacramento and San Joaquin Rivers drains half of California's watershed, and creates the largest estuarine environment on Pacific shores. This "Inland Coast" is home to 70 species of birds, and provides valuable habitat for beavers, muskrats, and river otters.

Nice paved trail that goes in and out of the neighborhood. Wear sunscreen there is little to no shade.

This winding trail through neighborhoods and along the river was an adventure. Some goats escaped and came running down the trail. It was a warm day and there was little shade. A nice little stroll for a cooler day, or perhaps when there is a good breeze. Great nature center though!

Trail is super easy. A straight easy shot to walk, and run. No worries there is no mountain and steep trails to climb. I love it so far. Will definitely do it again.

I usually take this trail along with Marsh Creek trail and it is a good ride both ways. If you are coming from Marsh Creek Trail, the end of Big Break has the water and park area to rest up for the return trip. Very nice area.

Easy trail, lots of educational infographics throughout. Took my kids and dogs, fun was had by all. The coolest thing was the enlarged map of the Delta with a 3D rendition of Mt. Diablo.

This is a good trail for handicap as well as the older generation folks. The hike is hardball and no dirt. You will go through 2 subdivisions. Just stick to the left hand side.
