I can only speak for the trail at the summit. We hiked there from Monticto Lodge which I wouldn't recommend (it's basically a fire road). The view while very pretty, didn't wow me as much as some of the other hikes we did. Theres also a huge cell tower or weather tower very close by that takes away a bit from the atheisticness of the summit.

This trail is awesome! Short drive compared to other locations in Sequoia and Yosemite. The trailhead is right off the road and super easy to find. Trail is very well maintained and easy to follow. No mosquitos (unlike courtright area). Low traffic as well, started at 8ish and got all the way to the top without seeing another soul.

Great 360 panoramic views from the top. I can't wait to go again after a good rainstorm washes away some of the valley smog and improves visibility.

Just a note, the trail is listed as 5.5 miles but the high point of the trail with the best views is only two miles in. So you can make this a 4mile hike and not miss anything.

If you want to get away from the crowds in the National Park, this is a very nice, moderate trail that takes you out to a great 360-degree view over the Forest (recommended by a ranger). We saw lots of wild flowers and some wildlife. Had a great chat with a local man at the point who talked about getting out on the less used trails.
