Very busy & windy per usual. New trails built so you can get creative with the paths you take.

My (almost) 5 year old daughter and I have been hiking Bernal Heights Park since she was 2 and explored almost every bit of the hill. There are often many people (and their dogs) on the service road and the summit, but we have found many somewhat hidden, small trails around the perimeter of the park. There are several trails appropriate for differently agreed kids. Lots of little places to explore and nature to be seen. Coyotes and birds of prey make occasional appearances. We're very glad to have this neighborhood resource during Shelter In Place! Oh yeah, lots of panoramic views, of course. Most of the eastern half of SF is visible, as well as much of the East Bay.

Wonderful little hike in the city. The hike is pretty short but there’s plenty of loops to take and it’s a pretty steep incline. At the top you get great views of the city and there’s a small wooden swing to play on. 8/10 a very nice little hike if you live nearby and don’t want to leave the city.

I love this park. Barely a trail! It’s more like a gorgeous scenic loop, really short and easy. The swing is cool, more for IG photos and to say you “did it”

I take my dogs here all the time. I’m so lucky to live right down the street! Construction going on now near the water fountain.

Nice and simple loop with gorgeous views. Can be a bit rocky up and down the hill on the smaller paths. If it’s a clear morning, go at dawn for the sunrise - wow!

Amazing views. Always windy as hell. The trail is exposed on a hill, bring sunscreen and windbreaker. A bit overrun with dogs. Lovely views though and a cool swing!!!!

This was a very short hike but a nice place to bring your dogs for a walk. The place was very lively and one gets a beautiful view of the Bay Area and the SF.

It’s a great trail and a great view. But, if you go on the small trails up higher, they are very steep and some may find them pretty scary.

This is definitely one of my favorite walks with my dog because starting from the bottom of the hill, I can get a bit of exercise at the same time. The views from the top of the hill are indeed stunning on a clear day. I also like the public art up here.

This is my favorite spot for a nature walk in San Francisco. You get a stunning 360 view of the city. The walk is easy and there are cute dogs everywhere! It's also a great workout spot if you run the loop several times. Someone added a swing at the very top, but I wouldn't hop on as it looks quite unstable. There are 2 tiny lots for parking; one at the foot of the trail, and one midway up. Make sure to park at the one at the foot of the loop!

Great views of the city and rarely gets crowded. It can be windy but is a great place to watch the fog roll in over Sutro

Popular neighbourhood hill near the Mission in SF. Great for a quick nice view of the City. Plenty of off-leash dogs if that's your thing. But there usually is at least some spot to hunker down and ponder away from dog walkers and people and the views are very nice albeit it does get windy. Early morning/evening especially nice. Very popular for special astronomical events (eg super moons) and Fourth of July!

Very easy hike with some opportunity to "get off the beaten path" by hiking up the hill. Dogs are everywhere, with plenty of opportunities for off leash running.
