Great trail, lots of variation in trail terrain and landscape. Bring 3L of water, snacks, and good company, and you’re good to go!
I loved this trail! However it was challenging, because we were training and carrying heavy backpacks plus doggy. There is some steep sections, but also flat sections. We started at 7:15am and it took about 5hrs. We brought 3liters of water for per person. And last mile we ran out of water. Around 10:30 - 11am it was already pretty hot outside (108 degrees), so next time we’ll start before 6am (or with cooler weather) and I am sure last miles we’ll be more enjoyable the first time. After 11 we had to stop in shades much more frequently. If you take dog on this trail, I recommend have him wear booties because ground gets pretty hot.
Very nice trail. More challenging that I expected with some steep pets and little shade. Go early or bring a lot of water.
First half was difficult with loose dirt and rocks on downhill.
Challenging trail. With the steep elevation gains & descents, would strongly recommend trekking poles. Spectacular views at several points along the trail. This trail was wonderfully devoid of the usual highly strange people who frequent the Blackstar Canyon Beeks Place corridor Highly recommend
Wowza! This one. Definitely one to try and it has both a bit of variety and a fair amount of incline on both the way out and back! Easy to find parking near trail head. Parking lot closed due to the panda Demic. Bring water and snacks. Decent shoes a huge plus: I never got lost and followed the loop/outline provided. My Apple Watch pro calculated 12.5 miles round trip not 9ish. Not for a super noob but achievable. Also a decent solo hike as your close to homes for most of it.
