Trail is well-designated, took the ferry to Coronado and road around silverstrand into Chula Vista and back to embarcadero. Not all of the trail is all that scenic but it's a nice ride to take at least once to see many different areas of San Diego from Coronado to Chula Vista.

Family ride with pull trailer. Good exercising trail. wind could be an issue pulling a kids bike trailer on a windy day against wind, but all is good if its for exercise. Take snacks for kids and water.

Ran this from IB a couple of times. Once up the strand and once on the Chula Vista side. Have not completed full trail. 10.7 and an 11.7 respectively. Nice path.

Silver Strand is a great place for bikers, not as much for hikers like me. The State Beach is very depressing - has tons of trash, plastic bottles and styrene cups. Most beaches belong to private property or the Navy, so not much to see here. Also cars are whizzing past you at top speed - you just don't hear much nature at all.

Again, if you are a biker - go; walkers - there are better places elsewhere.
