Hiked Pinnacle Rock yesterday. Still a lot of logging going on in the area due to the Complex Fire last year. Their are felled trees across the road to keep you about a quarter mile from the Rock but you can walk around easily. Wouldn’t recommend going up there on a windy day cuz there’s still a lot of dead fall happening

Started at the winery and ran 5 out and back. Definitely not recommended for runners! Highly trafficked. Very fine powdery moon dust. And the drivers aren’t real runner savvy or they’re just in a hurry. But at least they were mostly only traveling at Mach 12 so the dust didn’t kill me. Just choked me out for 1/4 mile or so! Hah!

Very beat-up this time of year with washed out ruts and deep snow. We made it in a new stock Subaru Forester with issues at the Eastern end of the trail. We started west off clear lake coast and headed up, lots of snow and ruts, very manageable. Valley is beautiful, clear River and Creeks. Eastern end was badly washed out deep mud/water. I advise AWD or 4x4 and higher than stock clearance(at least this time of year) or at least a metal skid plate protecting your undercarriage from exposed rock. No significant challenges, takes approx. 2-2.5 hours.

Made it no problem in a pickup, I'm sure anything stock will do just fine, be advised the trail is "closed" until December 1st because of hazardous trees. Nice scenery, nice day trip.

A long, fire break type of road road, with average scenery. No real challenges. Bartlett Springs itself is just about gone! A few foundations and a trickle of water is all that remains of the once famous resort (circa 1868). Of course, vandals have made their graffiti-marks on many objects in the area. From Bartlett Springs, the trail (road) begins it's climb out of the canyons and tops out above Clear Lake. A nice downhill for 2-4 miles drops you off about 200 yards from the lake. This is a pleasant, full day, outing.
