This was surprisingly a moderate stretch of the TRT. The beginning uphill portion was steady and the second had quite a few switchbacks. Then you begin your descent. Don't second guess yourself after you pass the bridge. You will be on a fire access road for a while without any TRT signs, but just keep trekking. You will cross Ward Creek Rd, get back on a normal trail (there is a TRT sign hidden behind a tree), then you get back on another fire service road. Once you come upon the 3 way split, make a left towards Page Meadow. Once through the meadow, make another left at the next "Y" (there won't be any signs). Finally when you are basically finished or so close to Tahoe City, just stay on the dirt road near the river. This road will eventually take you to the parking lot.

This trail is truly a place of beauty during wildflower season. We tried to hike from Barker Pass Rd to Tahoe City but the road at Barker Pass is still closed. So we did an out and back from Tahoe City. I didn’t mind at all because the wildflowers are spectacular right now. My only issue is so much fire road and a lot of bikes. We started at 7am and it was quite busy.

Went from Barker Pass to the Granite Chief Wilderness boundary. Great wildflowers and terrific views. Even in late August still a lot of running water which is awesome. Check out the photos.
