Some parts are OK, but a lot of time spent walking right next to busy roads

Some side walk some not. Slightly confusing to follow if you aren’t going to look at the map the whole time. Pass through two dog parks for a plus

the whole trail is definitely not stroller friendly as wibside listed and have to go across the streets a couple of time according my experience.

This is a combo trail/street walk. Personally thought it was very cool exploring all of our local flora and fauna right smack dab in the middle of our urban sprawl!

The posted “Starting Points” are inaccurate. Use the map. You can start anywhere but the parking lot at the tennis courts is best at Upas and Texas streets. Also many of the posted photos are not from the trail but from around Balboa Park in general. (No way to flag them. )

Half sidewalks and half off-road. The part through Florida Canyon is the outdoorsy part. The rest is very urban, but nice. Have lunch at the golf course restaurant. Great view!

I think we found the entrance but not labeled and not labeled enough to follow trails stopped and came up. We saw none of the cool stuff we saw in the photo album

Definitely NOT stroller or wheelchair friendly!! Nice hike for a novice as myself, just a bit scary with all the homeless encampments

cool loop. one side has a fun dirt trail that’s fairly rocky (no strollers), one side is basically road, the others are a mix.

One of my favorite loops in 92104, the map doesn't show it quite right. Not sure why other reviews mention history or strolling, as this loop has neither. Its basically a narrow dirt canyon path the loops around the golf course and Morely Field.

Don’t even attempt this route. It’s mostly on the the side of roads with like no space(not really too safe).

Definitely not a trail suited for strollers. The nature trails are cool looking but if you are bringing kids be prepared to carry them

This trail is more of a touristy afternoon stroll. Waking through the park is calm and peaceful. All sidewalks and lots of botanical gardens

I wouldn’t necessarily consider it a hike. But a nice peaceful walk. Nice views, tons of squirrels and butterflys. Great for all ages.
