The time of day really affects the colors and saturation on the mountains. 5pm was a good time to really see the unique colors of the mountains!

Didn’t walk the trail, but drove Artists’ Drive to Artists’ Palette in the late afternoon (began at 4pm in January) and loved it. Perfect time to see the beautiful, subtle colors there. The drive is great fun and fascinating ! Planning to redo it in the morning light.

The colors here are so pretty and old. I think the best time to see these awesome hills would be sunset although they were pretty dark around 10am! Some of the hills were even glowing pinkish and purplish/blue

Just stopped and did quick walk from viewpoint. Not much hiking but was beautiful at sunset.

I think this is where the gods tap off the excess pigment off their brushes. Its gorg. When the sun shines is when it paints best
