Armstrong Redwoods Grove Loop Trail is a 1.2 mile moderately trafficked loop trail located near Guerneville, California that offers the chance to see wildlife and is good for all skill levels. The trail offers a number of activity options and is accessible year-round.
Armstrong Grove State Preserve The Pioneer Trail in Armstrong Grove is an excellent example of a typical Old Growth Redwood Forest. This grove was one of the last examples of this type of forest in Sonoma County and set aside in the 1870s by the far sighted lumberman who both cut and appreciated these trees for what they were. This walk is a self guided interpretive walk in old growth redwoods with outstanding examples of plant life within an old growth grove. Much of this trail appears to be ADA compliant and a segment of this route has been designed for sight impaired visitors. There is a guide rope along one side of the (Discovery) trail leading to a series of Braille Information placards.
