This is a short but fun little hike. The wilderness can be experienced by climbing the repurposed railway ties which lead up to the edge of the Big Santa Anita Creek... or just resting in one of the many picnic areas along the way.

A nearby backup to the trails at Chantry Flat, where access is sadly closed due to the stupid government shutdown. The trail is short, but there's some elevation gain (and stairs!), making for a decent workout if you do several laps.
