The beginning of the trail goes above a residential area for about 1/4 mile...don't let this deter you from continuing! This trail is very cool. Great views and other trails connect toward the top! Gorgeous rocks and mountains and flowers and cacti. Dogs can come on PART of the trail. You will run into a sign indicating that dogs are not allowed past that point.

First time using this app. Second weekend hiking! I have to start early, like 6 or 7am. Started at 9am High was 95 by the time I was done. Nice trail and great close up of Bob Hope Famous house. Lots of Sage brush. Recommend!

Steep ascent and descent, winding up the canyon. Great views over Palm Springs, but I found on getting to the top, the rest of scenery was quite barren so didn’t continue on other trails.

park in the Araby Wash, walk down to foot of Rimcrest and go up Araby to the cairn. Drop down to the left of the cairn on Berns trail to the dry river bed and back up to the high cairn. From the high cairn drop down to the west 300 yrds and then head back down into the wash on the spectacular Shannon trail. At the base of Shannon is the sign on Earl Henderson. Head right down to the wash and the old stone houses and hoof it back to your car. Best loop hike in Palm Springs

This is accurately rated as moderate. Trail is in great shape but the elevation can be a little challenging even if you are a reasonably active person. The views are wonderful. We went to the peak at the small hikers’ rock formation. It took us 2.5 hours from pulling into the lot to pulling out with a few picture breaks and actual stops to hydrate instead of just drinking and walking. We should have arrived at 7:30 instead of 8:30. It got very hot very quickly so in hindsight we should have brought a few extra bottles of water to better hydrate. Overall, a great hike that I would definitely recommend!!

Great trail with great views once you pass the residential area. If you are in shape you should be able to do the trail in 90 minutes or less including a break at the top.

Moderate for the first mile halfway up, and hard and steep the second mile the rest of the way up. Very beautiful views and awesome view of Bob Hope's house. Was able to finish the hike in 2 hrs. 15 mins. Total of 4 miles

The first part by RV not scenic. After 20 min, you climb at a Moderate to Hard pace. The view keeps improving as you elevate. Great views of valley and former Bob Hope’s home with a retractable roof in the centre. Allow for rest stops and lots of water.

What a great hike! There were switch backs an elevation climb and areas where you were side by side with the beautiful lush greenside...almost forgot I was in a desert. A great workout and hike. Bring plenty of water and a hat.

Easy to moderate. Some parts a little tougher. Start by trailer court isn't much for scenery.

Great hike once you get past the RV Park. Great views up top and several paths to take. Hardest part for my wife and I was the hike down. It was tough in our old knees. Lol.

It was a really great hike after about ¼ of a mile. Great views of the valley and beautiful mountains. If you push it the heart gets pumping and makes for a great hike.

It was fun to see Bob Hope's house from different angles. The views of the valley were lovely. The hike begins overlooking a huge mobile home court but you leave that behind quickly.

Only had 1 hour before sunset. 30 mins out and 22 mins back. Picture of Bob Hope (mushroomed) house in background. Tessa,my dog, loves to hike these rocky trails. There is a picture of water runoff. Ralph

Starts poorly and than increased in value. This will be a go-to hike for us. And if you want more than there are alternate trails to try. Yes do it. Great day

Beautiful day, wasn’t too hot as it’s January! Got a wee bit lost but was okay as you could see the pathways easily from higher levels. Just a lovely hike!!

Definitely go early. Even in late January, was fairly hot by 11a. Moderate level is accurate. Saw a coyote at the beginning of the trail. Great views!
