The beginning of the trail goes above a residential area for about 1/4 mile...don't let this deter you from continuing! This trail is very cool. Great views and other trails connect toward the top! Gorgeous rocks and mountains and flowers and cacti. Dogs can come on PART of the trail. You will run into a sign indicating that dogs are not allowed past that point.

Heavily trafficked moderate trail. Decently maintained. I began the hike skeptically as we weaved through a residential landscape. The trail has a moderate incline with short stents of shade as you ascend the rocky vein of the hillside. Almost a full 180 view of Bob Hope’s home perched amidst the rocks. The views from the Berns Trail made the hike. Our recorded time includes a 20 - 30 minute rest to enjoy the view of the mountains and valley floor at the top. Not many botanical varieties nor wildlife.

Nice hike above the city for a workout. Not An visually stunning as other hikes but a nice 4 miles return trip.

Why do people still call it ‘Bob Hope’s’ house?? He has passed on & the house belongs to someone else. Get with it people!!!!

Starts and ends lackluster, so if your planning a long day it is really beautiful. Again first 20 min and last 20 min is an eye sore. The middle is wonderful. Lots of good huffing and well maintained.

This was a nice moderate trail, we went up araby trail and continued on berns trail. Had some good lookout points and if you go early in the morning it’s not too busy and still some shade. Over all it took us just under 3 hours to complete with some time for stopping for pictures.

Great trail and amazing views. Started before sunrise and continued far past the end of this specific trail. Water is a must of course. Rocky, wonderful single track

the end of this trail takes you to where you want to be. too good to turn around. so, plan for adding additional mileage once you make it to the ridgetop (aka: the end of this trail).
