Combined with lower portion of Terrace trail this makes for a 4.3 hike with a small loop at the top and a bit more climbing! Requires two creek crossings, easy when creek is low

This trail is definitely not lightly traveled. Several times we had to pull off to the side with the dog to let other hikers by. So fun to look at the redwoods and the river running through it adds another element to the beauty in the trees.

Nice, light hike in a shady area. There were people on the trail, but overall quiet and it never felt crowded. Easy access to other trails, in case you wanted to add a little extra on. With the creek and the shade it would be a good summer hike.

A super easy and beautiful hike that winds along Aptos Creek under the shade of bay, oak, laurel, and redwood trees. Park at the Safeway and cross the street into the culdesac (the road that is straight ahead out of the shopping center lot) to walk straight down to the trailhead. You can access Aptos Creek Fire Rd. and lots of other trails in lower Nisene Marks via this route without paying to park.
