Had a fun ride on this trail last Sunday. Steady gradual climb up, great view all the way to the top. Many trails at top to ride. Ride down was lots of fun! Will do again soon. Trail was accessible. Parking under bridge sketchy. Saw broken glass from car window. You do have to ride on the road for about a mile to trailhead.

Not a review. I'm curious if this trail is still accessible. I live in the area and have gone up the road on Anderson Rd side. Not too far past the Viejas Mountain Trail parking area there is a gate stating that everything beyond it is private property and there is no trespassing. Is this still open to hiking and/or mountain biking? If anyone is still using this trail, please post some info. Thank you!

06/02/2018, we hike this steady uphill trek and instead of out-n-back, we made it a Loop to tallied up 7.57 RT hiking mileage and 1,598’ elevation gains! Saw four (4) crashes vehicles on the mountainside overlooking mighty El Cajon & El Capitan Mountain & Lake! Also, saw & caught/released a garter snake!

Absolutely hate how it teases you with a short downhill before the grueling uphill climb. On the way back though it is one knarly epic ride!

The pathway is wide and level with a steady accent to Anderson Truck Trail road. It has been blocked of with large no trespassing signs 2/3 of the way so you can not longer make the loop. It's a great out and back Trail that is used often by mtn bikers.

You can pick up the trail off Puetz Valley Road at about Mile Marker 1.0 (a mile north of I-8). The map track begins at the freeway. Be aware that parking is a challenge but the trailhead is easily accessed. No gates at that entrance. A short distance in, there is an old, rusty metal barrier that was installed long ago to block the trail but there is a bypass around it. This is a very pleasant trail to walk.

I'm a local and love hiking this trail! I wake up, short walk to a fire road, all day walk through the mountains, and I'm still right by home. I love the watering hole on this trail too, but it is only seasonal. The tail isn't fenced off, ONE of its entrances is because it is on the owners private property and people were leaving trash and disrespecting their land.

Tried to get to trail, it is fenced and shows as private. It has a locked fence.

Tried to get here today and found out that the road has a gate and a 6 foot fence. Unless I was at the wrong place, this place is no longer accessible.

Great trail with a long fun down hill. If you start at the top "World Cup" there are plenty of rocks to launch off of and bypasses for the less brave or skilled!
