Good trail for walking, running, easy bike riding with kids. Beautiful view of the lake. Well-maintained paved road with very small incline and decline spots.

Hiking

Nice flat paved trail that crosses a number of campgrounds and parking lots. More like a walk than a hike. The one interesting thing when I recorded the path was the end of the actual path put us about 50 yards out into the lake.

Walking

Super easy walk along the lake. This “trail” is a paved walkway that is well-groomed and dog friendly. Really awesome views along this trail. I’d recommend this as the most child-friendly trail in big bear (and a easy trail to push a stroller).

Nice easy trail along the lake surprised at how low it was. Saw lots of birds, but there was too much noises from all the people and the close proximity to the road, so most of the wildlife was scared away by the noise.

Great trail for kids! We tried the Towne Trail (which was marked "easy" the day before and the kids didn't make it more then a quarter mile. This trail was 5 miles round trip and had no issues. Beautiful lake scenery. Highly recommended for small kids.

Running

I run the Alpine Pedal Path whenever I'm in town. Winter, Spring, Summer, Fall, it's my favorite running spot in Big Bear by far! Easy to adjust your mileage to whatever you desire. In winter, be sure to wear trail shoes b/c it can get slippery in spots.

Beautiful. I went in the morning. Much cooler than inland empire area lately. Lots of ducks and birds on the lake. Most of the areas where you can park require an adventure pass. Beautiful area. Pretty easy hiking. I will be back!
