Solid trail. Conditions were fine. Not overgrown. Probably more enjoyable than Hixon. Nice creek at the bottom. There’s a nice view of a rare waterfall after about a mile up. Definitely runable for you ultra runners. The hike is definitely worth it and just such a nice place to be.

Drive out east past Hemet but did find trailhead. Next time will come from east off 371.

Trailhead is actually about 1/2 mile past where the recording has it marked. There’s a gate of sorts and a rating sign for off road vehicles, you can’t miss it. It goes through the fire line from the idyllwild fires for about 1/4 mile, then it’s all good. Trail drops right down to where you cross the dry creek bed.
