Nice easy going trail...we had everything from some rocks, logs, water crossings, moving out, walking. Lots of shaded areas in the trees and plenty of open sunny areas in the meadows. Good up and downs and great flats...highly recommended trail for the horses. Will definitely be exploring up here some more.

Great trail, the beginning I was not liking it because of the paved road but the it turned in Roa beautiful hike. Great hike for kids if they can do 5-6 mile hike. Lot is shade. A lot of different routes so make sure you download map before you go. It can get confusing at points.

One of my favorites. It is a must do after the rains bring everything back to life.

A rare "forest" hike in San Diego. Wandering up Wooded Hill was the nicest part of the route, though it's not part of the AT trail. Not much elevation change apart from Wooded Hill.

pleasant weather even during the summer- a good escape from the city. fairly flat, well maintained trail, suitable for all skill levels. note that the 'real' Agua Dulce trailhead is some distance from teb point marked on th AllTrails app. however, the loop marked in the app is a traversable trail.

Gentle grade changes, outstanding views. Keep your GPS on... lots of unmarked intersections. Will be putting this one on the “hike again” list for sure.

Ok I’d have to say the opposite... thank goodness for this app!! Because twice we ended up on different trails because it wasn’t well marked. Instead of 5+ miles we did 8 miles due to the trail not being marked well. However, beautiful beautiful beautiful!!! If it wasn’t for this app, we’d still be out there! Lol thank you for the great 20 miles total!! Can’t wait to get more trails completed.

Easy dog and kid-friendly trail with beautiful foliage in the fall. This loop intersects with many other trails in the area and it is easy to veer off course. Be sure to use AllTrails or other GPS to navigate. There is a designated parking lot with restrooms at the trailhead off of Sunset Hwy on Wooded Hill Rd. Need to have an Adventure Pass ($5 day pass, $30 annual pass) to park in the parking lot.

My family and our dog hiked this on Mother's Day. It was cool in the shade but warm in the sun, so layers were good. My kids are 8 and 11, and this was a very easy hike (I left my boots in the garage at home and did this in my husband's birks, 2 sizes too big). I will say that there are many trail junctions, so a map is necessary to know how to stay on the loop that you want. The meadow was gorgeous and this is one of the most fragrant hikes I've been on in California (pines). We saw a handful of mountain bikers (which this trail is great for!) and a few walkers, but many long stretches alone. Overall, a very pleasant and peaceful walk.

Enjoyable hike. With the recent rain and snow (winter months) there was a fair amount of water on the middle bend; just a little pond. Going is pretty easy, all down hill. Coming is uphill, but not steep at all. Take your time and enjoy the scenery. The open planes are always nice to see when hiking this particular area of Laguna.

Starts off with a decent run. However becomes more of a bike trail and very difficult to stay a running trail. If you are hiking or riding a bike, it's nice but for running, it has a lot of obstacles.

Very beautiful hike year-round. In the winter there will be snow, in the spring it can be very green (if it's been a wetter winter), and even in the summer when the grasses have dried it's still pretty with the golden color on the ground and the green pines. It's a fairly easy hike with a couple of spots with great views across the range. Even though you start out at the road, in not too long you are in dense enough trees that it's quiet and very beautiful. See my profile and my track for a much more detailed review and photos!
