A few things need clarification in the description. Firstly, although it is near Julian, it is not at all like Julian. If you want that mountainous forest feeling, you will not get that. In fact, it's in a desert. Secondly, the hike does not end at the spring, it starts at the spring, which makes it far easier to get there, and therefore more heavily trafficked at the spring itself. The hike itself is kind of dull and not super rewarding. Thirdly, there is a pay toll (3$ per person when I went). Fourthly, the hot spring is NOT a natural one. Rather, the "spring" is naturally heated and pumped from the ground into a man-made pool inside of a building. It was a kind of disappointing trip to me. Definitely cool enough to stop by on your way to something greater, but otherwise, I would never plan to go there again, which is what I sorely wanted.

I believe they call this trail Marsh Trail Wash now. Nice leveled trail that ends up in a bunch of Palm trees and dried up pond.

Cool place to to relax in natural mineral water. Glass dome over nice pool. Pool water is clorinated, but there is mineral shower water thats not clorinated.Nice modern camping area.
