Amazing trail! A perfect hike for kids! My kids really enjoyed running along this trail, hiding behind rocks and climbing trees. There was a nice view on the descent. Warning: don’t miss the trail going “back”, if you’re planning on hiking the shorter 2.2 mile loop. The trail that leads back (if you walk counter clockwise) is not as wide as the one continuing straight ahead. We missed the turn, but thanks to AllTrails I noticed before we had gone too far. We can’t wait to come back to hike this wonderful trail!

Loop generally used by locals and those staying in the neighboring area. Trail is though a wooded area of Ponderosa pines, ironwood, and manzanita. Counter clockwise: first half is a gradual climb up a sandy wash of decomposed granite. Reach the saddle and you can decide to turn left for the shorter route back or continue on.... Pet cemetery, bear den?

It was very nice. I like to call it the 4 season hike because of the leaves falling down for fall, etc.

Nice trail with a good amount of shade. Good amount of incline but doable. There are some views but not as good as some of the other area hikes. Took about an hour going straight through.

Parking is on the street. Don't block any access point to the surrounding homes. Would do this clockwise (so steepest part of the hike is uphill). The ridge trail is single track, the rest of my extended route was old double track (no longer allows vehicles). My recent loop on allTrails includes a loop up to "High Point", with views of Sugarloaf. Would only do the extra loop if you just want more exercise. It is this extended loop that is the rockiest.

Beautiful. Left at 5 pm. Nice cool breezes and distant views of the lake. That 600 ft elevation change is no joke

Family of 4 - 2 tweens and our small dog enjoyed it. Perfect for all of us. Beautiful diverse vegetation, trail was easy to follow. Rewarded at top with cool breeze and nice views Went early Sunday afternoon and only saw a few people - so nice! Took the advice from a previous review and totally Agree Walk up on western loop (bow canyon area) much better slow diverse climb Get to the top and enjoy the view and a snack. Then come down eastern side - enjoy the peekaboo views of the lakes and horizon as you walk down. A little steep in parts so even more reason to complete the loop going down this side.

Great short trail, there was shade throughout and the breeze was amazing. Ita also a smooth trail and not rocky at all. It has amazing views once you start coming back around.

Took my dogs on this fairly low-traffic trail. We went past the loop up a until the path was no longer visible and sat under a tree for lunch. Loved that this was not any where near as crowded as the other trails in BB.
