A short walk down to Abbotts Lagoon. This is a great place to go to a quiet beach if you aren't against having to hike a little bit for it. Along the way there are lots of flowers, wildlife, and nice view points of the lagoon.

if you want an isolated beach with a gorgeous walk on the way, this is for you. There are a ton of meadow and sea birds all around, adorable bunnies, wildflowers, and marshes. I saw maybe a dozen people total in two hours.

Beautiful mile plus walk to one of the nicest beaches in Marin County. Wildflowers are in full bloom. The lagoon really makes this beach unique,

I would recommend this trail to any hiker. It’s a beautiful trail and easy to hike. Due to time constraints, I veered left up the hill rather than walk all the way down to the shoreline. Gorgeous view from the top of the hill.

By the numbers, it’s not much. A mile and a half gentle descent through coastal grassland, past a lagoon and onto the beach. But PR adds an end-of-the-world remote quality to the whole experience that is otherwise hard to duplicate and harder to explain. On Memorial Day we had the entire shore to ourselves. So: 4 stars.

Beautiful hike with the baby. Easy enough trail, with views of fields, lagoon, and farm houses that leads to dunes and coastline

Just a short hike to the lagoon but you can hike more if you want to explore in the beach. We saw coyote and deer.

We went in August and it was still pretty chilly. Loved the views! Not a lagoon you can bathe in but still worth the views

I walked this trail on a weekday out to the ocean, it is easy just like all trails said but once you get out to the ocean it’s like you are the only one on the beach, you can go miles and miles north or south with no other people around, only birds and crabs.

Very easy stroll, pretty much level. Once you hit the ocean you have the option of going to the right along an extensive beach or a hill climb to the left. We went to the right and enjoyed a scenic beach nearly devoid of people.

Incredibly beautiful place. There were so many flowers blooming and birds singing. I highly recommend it for an easy hike. Well worth it.

Magical. Beautiful drive to the trailhead from the city and easy and beautiful walk through wetlands, around the large lagoon and to the huge beach expanse. Highly recommend

Went over Labor Day weekend. Got to trailhead at 9 AM and there only 4 cars there. Pit toilet at trailhead. No water that I could see so bring some. No shade on the trail but it was cool hiking in - on the way out it was warm. Walk along the Lagoon past bridge to avoid the sand. Bring a bag to pick up plastic trash. Saw people bring chairs to sit on the beach which was a good idea. Wife was startled by a baby snake on the trail on the way back - I think it was a garter snake. Leaving Point Reyes around noon there was crazy traffic. Glad we got there early.

Did this hike yesterday (April 15) and many of the wildflowers were blooming everywhere. Very easy hike past the lagoons out to the ocean with spectacular views down the coast.

We pulled up to the parking lot with our two dogs in the car and were sad to see signs indicating dogs are not allowed on this trail. If you drive down the road a few more minutes, however, you'll come to the trailhead to a trail out to Kehoe Beach, which is dog friendly.

We went on an overcast day and the green rolling hills looked like Scotland. Easy, light walk, wonderful scenery, and only takes a little over an hour.

Wonderful in the fall. It's a very easy walk from the trail-head to the beach, which is covered in beautiful dunes. Birds all along the walk. While it looks a bit desolate, it's really a great experience. During the walk you focus on various marsh birds (saw White Pelican in the lagoon). At the ocean you can then explore the coastal wildlife. I think fall is the best time to go because the air is very clear and the light is good. Most importantly the winds are not so fierce. In summer/spring the winds are generally stronger. Would not advise on high wind days unless you really layer up.
