Easy trek. Really good for kids that you want to get them into the idea of hiking. Not steep at all. Just wish dogs were allowed at the destination (rocky Beach with cave). Otherwise definitely fun!
The hike itself is short, but you can continue on the beach. Getting to the beach requires a sturdy foot. The trail down, at least the one I used, was steep. Their are rocks at the very top of the beach to walk over. The beach was great. All the sand when I went was wet, making it easy (and fun) to walk on. It’s all very beautiful. There is no shade.
Life's a Beach!
Super Duper easy but the hike at Sunset is amazingly gorgeous!!!!
Gorgeous view
The hike was somewhat short but we continued on to a separate trail to make it longer. We took our two year old and he really enjoyed the beach portion of the trail. Downside to this spot is that there is very little shade, but the view is beautiful.
BEAUTIFUL little hike. I think parking fees were waived that day. Walked for a bit, took a seat off of the trail near a trail down to the beach & had a little snack, then headed down to the rocky beach. It was a little rough on my feet, walking on those rocks, but it was totally worth it. I'll wear different shoes next time.
Very nice views, amazing pictures everywhere, lots of other trails to follow. Loved this trail.
Not easy for people who have a harder time getting around (small children, older people.) Very pretty once you get to the bottom. A little bit of tide pool life. Very very rocky and hard to get around. Overall cute short hike.
This is one of my favorite places! During the spring is the best❤️️
Beautiful at sunset!
Great place
Easy hike but one of the most beautiful in Southern California. If you can, explore the tide pools. Worth the risk!
Very easy trail. Mostly just used by families for beach access. Somewhat stroller friendly.
Hidden gem in so cal! Must come back with the kids!
Took my family (8, 6, and 4 year old) hiking. Had a great time. No issues, even had a little picnic on the shoreline. Great scenery of the cliffs, beach was clean and quiet. Went during noon time on a Saturday and not many people. Almost thought we had the place to ourselves. Good time, do it again and very family friendly. Kids enjoyed it.
nice hike
One of my favorite hikes!! Such beautiful views, light to moderate hike & several little trails to explore with wonderful views. In the past, people used to be able to venture to the caves with no problems, however in the past few years I've heard of many unfortunate accidents so if you do venture to the cave at Abalone just be cautious of the tides, falling rocks & wear water shoes! I have seen some amazing sunsets here & encountered many sea lions here because of the kelp beds! Please please please throw away all your trash & do not litter. This place is beautiful & should be respected & well preserved.
Beautiful location, definitely a must when in Palos Verdes. Make sure you go during low tide for maximum exploration. Beautiful, even on a cloudy day.
Awesome views and great surroundings with the breeze of the ocean....
Beautiful scenery but steep trails up and down. It's a short trail but I wouldn't call it easy.
Beautiful views
Loved it!!
Beautiful view and easy for the kids.
Easy terrain
Amazing views!
Perfect hike with my 3 and 5 year old kids.
