I started at the entrance of Spanish bay inn since this side was closest to my hotel and drove around the outer part along the coast plenty to sea my two favorites were sea lion rock and lone cypress . There is a $10.50 fee to get in and about three entrances depending which way you are coming up. Pebble beach golf course is beautiful and the gorgeous homes along 17 mile left me with jaw dropping .

Seventeen mile drive beaches at sunset are untamed, wild, rugged and like unremovabled, tattooed memories in golden ink.

By far my favorite “trail” to bike. The scenery is gorgeous. My significant other and I have completed the 17 mile bike ride there and back. We used to go biking every spring and summer in Monterey from 2014-2017. I definitely need to revisit soon!

Nice trail for biking but I wouldn't recommend it for walking. And there is no entrance fee for bikes.

Great for a drive, any day of the week I’ve gone there is traffic. There’s a toll fee of $10 dollars at the gate. Pretty for pictures.

Beautiful place. Drove it. Won't suggest walking/running too much traffic, biking would be nice. Several places to park and take in views. Much cheaper than golfing there ;) but it will make you wish you were golfing.

Biked this trail. Loved it. There is a bike lane for about 1/3 of the trip (along the coast line), but no lanes around the residential areas. There are beautiful homes and some good “hilly” portions (clocked 30 mph coasting down one). Be aware and present on this trail. There is a “half-way” point with restrooms, a market, restaurants, shopping, etc- and a good “over-look” platform with a gorgeous view of the rocky bay.

Heavy traffic most of the way.

This isn't a trail -- it is a road. A narrow and windy 2 lane road, with lots of fast cars. I ran it, and it was dangerous; there is no shoulder, and you are at the mercy of the cars giving you a wide enough clearance. It is pretty, but you should drive it. Not safe for foot traffic.

the trail is parallel to the road and and some point you have to walk on the street but it is very beautiful walk.

Drove this with friends. Nice stops, beautiful views. Great opportunity to hang out with snacks and beverages at each stop. Made for a great afternoon! Highly recommended. We were out of the car more than in it!

Not really a trail. You have to walk on the side the paved 17 Mile Drive and sometimes even on the car lanes. The cars are moving fast, like 40mph. Most drivers here don't obey speed limit. Beautiful scenes but you'd better drive.

Not quite 5 stars because at some points you have to run along the road. Traffic can be really bad and there is almost no shoulder on the roadway. But the trail is great. Well marked with great sights!

Although foggy, we enjoyed the stops, the ocean views, Pebble Beach, Carmel Beach, and stopping at the pro shop. This is one of those “you have to dos” in California. Enjoy!

Less hiking and more leisurely stroll, this trail was easy with minimal elevation change. You're mostly walking along the side of the road unfortunately but despite this, the views of the ocean were amazing. You can actually turn around at Pebble Beach and create a shorter loop (which we did by accident due to a golf tournament) if you don't want to go point to point. ~11 miles
