Got a cabin for the night the trail was a nice walk before bed. cabin had full kitchen/bath/electric. People super friendly and great. It's a bit of a drive on dirt roads up there which make it quiet and peaceful wish I could spend the week and do the longer trails.

We stayed at one of the hike in campsites. Campsites have a fire ring, and spigots with potable water are available. It can get pretty busy on the weekend, so make sure to make a reservation or get there early enough to get a spot.

I loved this hike. The rim trail is awesome. The cabins there are very rustic, and fun to stay in.

The Rim Trail is breathtaking from every vantage point and I've never seen a bigger horizon in all the Ozarks. Stone cottages and bluffs can be found all along this trail and the views from each are spectacular. This hike is an absolute must! Beware though, of the Shores Lake Trail. While the Rim Trail is a short 2 mile hike, the Shores Lake Loop is a grueling 14 mile trek!

Beautiful views and if you time your hike in the afternoon, to catch the sunset on the west side of the trail, your in for a spectacular sunset.
