This is a nice drive, but there's an even prettier one that takes a little less time. Take 5 out of Mountain View, but instead of following 5 all the way to Calico Rock, turn left on 14 at Allison (look for Anglers Resort on the right). Follow 14 to 341 (Push Mountain Rd.) and take a right. Very curvy road and a little steep at one point, but well constructed and has some beautiful views.. At end of 341, you can turn right onto 201 and then left onto 5, which will take you into Mountain Home. OR you can turn left onto 201 and stay on it 'til you get to the Sheid Hopper Bypass. Cross Bypass (see Library on the right) and drive into Mountain Home from there.

Nice drive along the White River, some good overlooks. Calico Rock is a pleasant stop. Eat at Jo-Jo's Catfish Wharf just noerth of Mountain View when you get to the end, it's worth the drive!

The possibilities for things to do are endless! And I mean that in the most literal sense. I’ve been coming here since I was a child and I’m STILL finding new things to do and places to explore. This stretch of the Ozarks is some of God’s finest handiwork.
