I would actually call this a 3.5/5 stars. Be aware! The road to the trail is mountainous and rocky and difficult to get to if you don’t have a car with 4WD - it was a white-knuckled ride for us. The trail was beautiful and adventurous, but not maintained or really marked at all - bring your AllTrails map with you. Took us about 2 hours to get to the end, and a short 30 mins to get back to the car. When we got to the top, we realized that the only way we could get on top of the rock was to rock climb - something that we don’t do. Apparently somewhere exists a scramble to the top, but good luck finding it. All in all, a pretty cool experience, just wishing we could have found some good views at the end.

I climb here too. Top spot with few visitors.

Go during late fall, winter or early spring to avoid the biting bugs, snakes and poison ivy. On top of stacked rock you will find one grave from an early settler. Also the top of stacked rock was once a farm.

The primitive trail and bushwhack to the top of the mountain was scenic with interesting rock formations and views of the area. It is a scramble to the top when you get about 2/3 around the mountain if you hike counter clock wise which I reccomend. You see the best stuff and it is a easier hike out.
