If this trail was a few miles longer, I’d consider it “hard” only cause nothing is marked! Made it a challenge in itself to find out which way to go, but was fun at the same time. Either way you end up, you’ll get great views!

At the turn around point go left & hike the path along the top of the ridge. If you look at my trail, I put a Waypoint (marked with a red ribbon) where you can go down & walk below the cliffs. My pictures show the beauty of formations on the side of the wall & where a stream starts coming through a crack in the mountain. Pretty cool area.

The trail was very difficult to find. Finally just followed some footprints and we were amazed at the beauty. Beautiful views. Trails are along the side of steep cliffs, would not recommend young children on these trails.

Very confusing trail. Park in the the loop before the gate and the trail entrance is in the loop on the right (unmarked.) The caves in the trail are some of the most remarkable I saw in the Ozarks, but fallen trees and poorly marked trails made this trail stressful (it was also snowing!) Give it a go and see how you do!

This area is awesome. As others have said, beginning the dog walk was a little confusing but the all trails map will get you there. We followed that around the cliff base and then took the trail to the left to get to the throne and went around the base of that. We then went back and headed towards the right and followed an old road bed. The alltrails map doesn't show it, but you can keep following that road bed for a ways, and eventually after walking up, you'll see a path veer off toward the left. I believe if you kept following the road you might hit the highway. The path will take you along the edge of the cliffs and numerous paths off of that will take you up to the camp areas. Eventually the path will take you to the loop at the end of the road. I'm not sure why all trails doesn't show it but the route is in the tim ernst book.

The views were amazing. Finding the actual path to the throne is a bit tricky, but well worth the trouble.

Gorgeous hike in the fall!!! Had to explore a bit to get more hiking out of the trail. Some trails are hard to see with all of the leaves. Tried going along the cliff side and was able to go for about 8/10 of a mile before not finding the trail. So highly recommend exploring if you want more hiking! Definitely great for rock climbing. Overall a great hike and my pup loved it too!

Absolutely stunning views, especially at sunset! We tried it a few days ago when it was too foggy to see anything and were so glad we had the opportunity to see it this afternoon. A very easy hike with huge payoff!
