HikingGreat!

I would say this hike is a easy to medium hike. Limited parking though. Great hike. This hike is actually a bunch of little trails so it can be broke up so families can hike it just fine. When I hiked it today there we kids 4-5 years old on the hike doing just fine.

I totally understand the confusion on following the trails. I’m about a moderate hiker and have done both well marked and none. A map is available at the start. The map it helps to give you the right idea of the trail your on. And can easily tell which is a trail vs and service trail. This app helped a lot to get an idea which direction to go but definitely not able to “follow” and trail like normal. Had cell service the whole time with sprint and few scatter people around. Was not worried about being lost and never finding my way again but not well mark or trail head throughout. It was still a very nice hike and liked it.

Beautiful trail that is very nicely prepared for mountain bikers. Solid running spot with lots of nice elavation changes. Parking lot is very small and can fill up on weekends.

Great trail, the kids who are 7 and 10 loved it..the only problem was that the trails are not marked well, but the map provided at the entreat entrance helped. Will be going back for sure.

Trail gate was closed, couldn’t really pull of the road unless you had a pin to open the gate. While I was typing this two other vehicles topped and then drove off.

Really awesome view at the top of the ridge. If you take the service trail to the top hang a left and go up the ridge! Nice views of pinnacle

This is a great trail if you “traverse the high cliff area”, i.e. the ridge. I went up the right side (the east side) and scrambled the entire ridge to the west. This is not for kids or dogs in my opinion. Some exposure in a few areas. This hike rivals the East Summit of Pinnacle Mountain. FYI, the trail map on All Trails does not show the climb up to the ridge, or the traversing of the ridge. Beautiful views from the ridge. Love this hike!

The actual trail is an old road, but it offers great views and a more challenging hike if you cross the ridge instead of staying on the trail. On the right upper corner of the trail map, there's a 3 point spur. Take the left spur and follow where numerous others have gone before. It will open onto the ridge. Follow the ridge to it's farthest point for the best views. The trail map picks back up once you reach the bottom of the left point of the ridge. Once you reach the end of the ridge, I personally prefer to descend on the right hand side (the ridge behind you) of the ridge. It is a little steep but offers the easiest descent. You end up in the forest, just keep heading down to your left, and you'll meet back up with the actual trail. The trail itself has some steep areas with loose rock. They are constructing new trails into the area off this main trail, and those are pretty nice. The ridge is a combination of large rocks to scramble over and across mixed with a little ground to walk on and very little tree coverage. The ridge is a great hike if you want something a little more challenging with great views. Personally, without the ridge and the new side trails, I wouldn't necessarily recommend this actually trail. But with them, I really enjoy the hike.

Parking is very limited. My wife and I went and there was a group of people there, maybe Boy Scouts. They took up the entire lot so we had to leave. Was looking to trying a new trail but we will have to try another day.
