Mile points 0-9, Spring Creek to Moccasin Springs, Ozark Highlands Trail, Sylamore Section (not to be confused with Sylamore Creek Trail 20 miles east). This OHT Sylamore Section spans 31 miles from Almus Knob at the south end to Matney Knob on the north, and is comprised of five segments ranging from 2-9 miles length. This southernmost segment is the most remote. Mile points 0-1 features views of Almus Knob, mile points 1-6 follows a ridge contour at the base of three rocky citadel bluffs, and miles 6-8 descend into a deep hollow following mountain streams.
