Ozark Highlands Trail from Fairview Campground is a 1.6 mile moderately trafficked out and back trail located near Pelsor, Arkansas that features a great forest setting and is good for all skill levels. The trail offers a number of activity options and is accessible year-round. Dogs are also able to use this trail but must be kept on leash.

Fairview National Forest Campground is located on 7hwy, just north of Pelsor, Arkansas. It has picnic tables and primitive for fee campsites w/fire rings. The view is exceptional with gorgeous sunsets. It is a good staging ground for hiking, canoeing and other outdoor activities. The campground is an access point to the Ozark highland trail.

Fairview campground is located along AR Scenic Hwy 7, approx. 27.2 miles South of Jasper, and approx. 36.9 miles North of I-40 at Russellville Pelsor, Arkansas on 7 hwy (7hwy & 16 hwy) travel north on 7 hwy 1.5 miles, camp on the west side of the road.

Hmmmm..... this is not really a hike- just a spot in the Ozark Highlands Trail. The 1.6...I’m not sure what that is referring to. And I wouldn’t categorize it as “easy” bc either way you go is descending down about 500 ft and it’s a bit of a hike back up to the old campground. It’s just a walk in the woods and some good exercise back up.

You can confirm with the NF at the ph. number provided. NF official website still shows the campground open. It is a simple campground central to a lot of hiking in the area. Can be used as a base camp.

Fairview is a typical primitive NF campground. Has a great view, but to close to hwy. Excellent location to stage from as you engage in day outdoor activities in the area. Many nice hikes in just a few miles
