Choose either 2.6 mile point-to-point or 5 miles out-and-back. Moderate challenge, rocky tread in places, views of lake after leaf-off. Briarcliff Trailhead is also known as Shoal Creek, Devils Backbone also called Sycamore Highlands Trailhead. Norfork Trail is 13-mile linear trail, with six trailheads, following the western shore of Lake Norfork ¼ of the lake’s length. Weedy in summer, hikers should take measures against ticks & chiggers, bug problems abate in Autumn. Volunteers clear the trail annually in fall or winter.

Trails pretty well marked with blue blazes or blue tree tags. Needs some maintenance but I love the trail. Notified the Corp about missing markers when you get to the areas to go around a cove as they are poorly marked. Someone added a few piles of stacked rocks where the blue blazes were missing. Thank you! Definitely a no tennis shoe track.
