Used to be best and handiest scenic easy flattish dog walking trail in area. Due to the massive year-long bridge construction they bulldozed out and blocked areas of the trail! Also, parts of walking trail were crumbling into the creek due to heavy flash flooding in recent years along the creek. I hope they have plans to somehow restore this trail or create an alternate route. Huge loss. Park could easily mark trails (create a trail map) and maintain an alternate dog walk venue with great river views on the current trails located upriver (instead of downriver) from the same Mill Creek trailhead parking. Wish they would. Note: So few (leashed) dog trails here .. only others in Park are at Whitaker Pt. or Buffalo Point Park, both an hour away in different directions.

This trail is interrupted by construction of a new bridge. The first part is better traveled and more evident and then you come to the construction site so you have to detour around. Difficult to pick up trail on the other side of the river, but we saw the cabin and found our way back to the trail. It’s very overgrown.

I thought the trail was fairly easy fairly clear why is there a little bit of overgrowth yes there was but you have to remember this is summer time in Arkansas and this is not a trail in some City Park this is the Buffalo National Wilderness so again that's to be expected. the cabin on the trailer easy to find the trail literally runs right into the cabin porch so you should have no trouble finding the cabin.

More of an overgrown foot path than a trail, which ends early due to road construction. We could not figure out how to get to the cabin or the cemetery. Beautiful area but very disappointed in the trail.

Trail was totally overgrown lots n lots of sting weed choking off the trail. We couldn’t find the cemetery. The cabin was real cool, as was the travel along the creek.

Access was confusing due to extensive road construction near trailhead.

Went this last week during spring break. We had kids aged 6, 6, 7, 11, 12, & 12. plus a Great Dane Mastiff mix. The recent storms have washed away some of the trail but this did not effect our hike much. There were also trees that had fallen on the trail in some odd ball spots. Now the construction I completely forgot was going on. Due to this it was a bit upsetting to see the trail litterly cut through but they are rerouting the Pruitt bridge so it will be better in other years.

Pros: Beautiful scenery, and lots of wildflowers along the way. The old cabin was great, and the cemetery held a lot of mountain history. It is gated all around, and is posted as private property. Cons: There is a lot of road construction-type work going on on the hillside as you first come in, which really takes away from the overall feeling of being in the woods. This went on for quite a while, almost up to the cabin itself. Also, not a problem for us, but there are parts where there isn't a lot of footing alongside the creek. Just a heads up! All in all, not a trail I would want to do very often, but it was an enjoyable afternoon hike.

Simple, easy, flat hike great for all ages/abilities. There are some great views of the buffalo River at the beginning of the trail. The trail takes you right along the creek for the majority of the hike, which was pleasant.

Pretty low key hike. The cabins neat and creek is pretty, other than just hiking for hiking sake not much to see. Pretty weedy also along creek.

This was a nice hike. I was highly disappointed to see the signs along the hike talking about the water contamination due to waste being dumped into the water. But i did enjoy seeing the old cabin and cemetery. Easy hike very level and beautiful tree.
