This trail follows a creek, over a low water bridge, to Shaddox historic pioneer cabin, then on to the pioneer Shaddox cemetary before returning to the creek and trailhead.
Cemetery is private, no trespassing. Cabin was awesome!
Pretty low key hike. The cabins neat and creek is pretty, other than just hiking for hiking sake not much to see. Pretty weedy also along creek.
This was a nice hike. I was highly disappointed to see the signs along the hike talking about the water contamination due to waste being dumped into the water. But i did enjoy seeing the old cabin and cemetery. Easy hike very level and beautiful tree.
Quick and easy hike. Nothing amazing but fun to take the kids and look at the old cemetery and homestead.
A very quick, easy trail. If you're camping or canoeing nearby, it's worth it if you want to kill some time. The trail itself is nothing spectacular, but the old homestead and nearby cemetery is a nice historic attraction.
Mostly level terrain. Good, easy walk for those with children.
It was a nice little afternoon walk.
We hiked this trail on 1/17/15. It was a beautiful day in January, but we were very disappointed in this trail. The only reason I gave it 2 stars was because of the Shaddox Cabin that was kind of cool. If there was a cemetery there, we could not find it. You are barely off the road and can hear the cars driving by and can see them part of the time. Glad I get to mark it off my list, but I won't be going back.
I thought this was a nice relaxing trail. The leaves were falling all around. There are some pretty views of the bluffs and the creek and if you go on the other side you'll see the old cabin and cemetery.
A easy trail for the whole family
Short, boring, and runs along a creek that smells like sewage. There are signs at the trailhead that warn the water is contaminated with untreated waste. There are many better trails in the area, don't waste your time on this one.
A nice trail, good choice for those interested in a mostly level hike without bluffs. Along the river, one low water bridge, a great pioneer cabin and a family maintained cemetary that are both good spots for breaks or picnics. Watch out for thorns on the Mill Creek Loop.
Mill Creek is an easy hike along a creek and to nice little Arkansas Pioneer homestead.
Worth a look while in the area.
