This trail brings you to the largest and oldest tree in Arkansas- the baldcypress, a relative of the redwoods in California. The tree is 126 feet tall, spreads 75.5 feet, and has a diameter of almost 14 feet! The trail is open from March 1st to December 15th, and is closed the rest of the time due to seasonal flooding. This trail is an old ATV trail, but is now closed to all vehicle traffic. Put plenty of bug spray on, especially in spring and summer. A smaller side trail brings you to the baldcypress, if you continue to follow the ATV trail, you will arrive at the scenic Lower White Lake, with other old growth trees. Please help us preserve the old trees by not practicing graffiti or littering.
