Rolling ridge top trail with fine vistas of the Buffalo River and surrounding mountains, drops down to pass through four hollows, hikers can normally pick their way across creeks with dry feet. Trail passes under rock outcrops, limestone bluffs, and pour offs. The Buffalo River Trail is part of the planned regional trail from Ft Smith Arkansas to St Louis. In Arkansas, this section of the BRT is part of the 218 miles of finished uninterrupted Ozark Highlands Trail from Lake Fort Smith to Dillards Ferry on the Buffalo.
