We passed through beautiful Boxley Valley on a gorgeous fall drive last October, while traveling between Jasper and Bentonville in the northwest corner of the state. I would have loved to have had more time to explore the Buffalo National River area. It will definitely be high on our list if/when we make it back to Arkansas.

I squealed like a little kid! We saw an elk long after sunrise. We had planned to be out there early to catch them but instead slept in I was just sure we missed our opportunity. But there she was!!! It was wonderful

Have made this drive countless times. Good time to view the Elk is early morning or late evening any time of the year in the pastures up and down the drive. The Best time of the year is during the Elk rut in late Sept early October. On those cooler days, you are apt to see Elk at any time of day.

One of my favourite places, the natural bridge and caves were amazing. We've done it twice and will again.

Great views everywhere you look. We drove it at sunset so we had the sun behind us and the moon popping up in front. Great time, thanks Arkansas!

This could very easily be one of my all time favorite places. Love it all the time, but especially in the fall with the Elk!

This is a must see. Such a beautiful drive. When we drove it we saw the mist on the mountains. The trees are beautiful colors. Amazing elk sightings.

SO MANY SEED TICKS in october. you have to go through long tall grass.... We accidenlty hiked south instead of north so a majority of our trip was spent confused. it was pretty and there are some great campsites along the way but since we were confused we didn't know how far to go to hit them. circumstances made it a bad hike. we cut it short and camped at steelcreek (I has some not very outdoorsey people with me) so we just day hiked the buffalow river trail afterwards. BEAUTIFUL! Jim bluff is great place to see.

One of the best scenic drives in the state. If you drive it in the fall, winter, or spring you will be able to see the elk.

Ponca offers access to some of the best in the state. Lost Valley is spectacular, The Crag overlook is probably the most notable in the state, the pristine Buffalo river is fantastic. You can spend a easy week in the area.
