beautiful view, ba safe and stay hydrated as the way back up can take it out of you. it took us 45min on the way down and about 1:15 on the way back up.

One of two adjacent loop trails, path leads from Big Bluff Trail to adjoining Oakridge Mountain Bike Trail, the two loops combined total 5 miles.

Very rocky, must have good reflex and balance. Great bluff view!

This is a nice trail but I wouldn't recommend it for people with physical disabilities or small children as it is very rocky. That being said once you reach the bluff...WOW amazing views. there is also a bench to rest at the bluff.

As others have said before me, rocky trail, but not overly difficult. Many spiderwebs and deer at the entrance to the trail. Beautiful view of the river early in the morning. Close to the river all I could hear were chainsaws running, a bummer, but once I got away from the river I could hear more birds and bugs. Totally worth the view of the river in the beginning of the trail, I should have done it backward to get a 'reward' at the end, a yummy dessert!

Nice short loop with a good overlook of the White River. Several deer, an armadillo hunting for dinner, and lots of spider webs across the trail to the point I needed to wave a stick in front of me the whole time to avoid countless webs. Lots of ticks spotted on the top of grass trailside waiting to hitch a ride on something. Trail bed somewhat rocky but I managed in flip flops (I am an experienced backpacker and would recommend sturdy trail shoes for the average hiker). Trail well marked and appropriate for all ages, although there's a significant drop-off at the overlook. Bench to sit and rest at overlook.

a Rocky Trail with beautiful views. The trail could be marked better. although it's not too difficult to get your bearings once you get started.

This was a great trail. Very kid and pet friendly. 2 adults, 2 kids, and 3 dogs managed the trail pretty easily. It is well marked and cleared. You do have to watch your step since it is pretty rocky but was easily managed.

Great little trail that is right next to the state park. Hiked it many times through the years as we've come to camp at the park. Kid and dog friendly.

Light to moderate trail with beautiful views overlooking the White River. We went with kids (2 to 16) and they did well.

Nice trail right in the state park with a scenic view at the top. It probably doesn't need to be said but make sure you have bug spray on

A rocky, but good trail. The complaints about it "not being fun because it's all woods for the most part" is ridiculous. If you're going to hike, you should expect to be hiking in woods to get there.. Enjoy nature!

There IS a parking spot on the side of the PowerHouse RD. You do NOT have to drive through the campgrounds and hope for a place to park. I asked the office at the campground and they told me about the parking spot on powerhouse rd. When the road splits off (left goes to the campground and right stays on powerhouse rd), keep on going (right) and you'll come across the parking space on your left.

Good hike. Trees down from ice storm in 2010. Peaceful. Some inclined areas.

I walked this trail at the end of Feb. so with bare trees and many that are downed it looked a bit like a battleground. The trail is very rocky and mossy so I imagine in wet weather it could be slippery. It took 1 hour to make the loop.

This trail is a pretty easy hike. If you're looking for a great view, I would hike to the overlook and then turn around. However if you're wanting to enjoy the beautiful Arkansas State Parks its a great place to spend your time. It is not uncommon to see a bald eagle or two. Also, if you go you should make the trip across the dam and go explore the beautiful James A. Gaston Visitor Center! Then take a walk through the Bull Shoals White River State Park!

The overlook from the bluff to the White River is fairly close to the beginning of this trail. It was the best part of the trail. The rest is just forest and not too exciting. This trail has the most fallen trees I've ever seen on a trail. Not sure if it is due to the rocky land not being able to hold the roots as well? There are also tiny cedar trees popping up all along this trail. We didn't see anyone else on the trail, and it was a nice afternoon so not sure how much the trail gets used. It can be a little confusing as to where the trailhead is because the sign leads you to a field, and the trailhead is to the right after you first enter the field rather than across the field. If you are just looking to hike for some exercise while camping out, this trail will work as it is right near the campground, but don't expect anything too awesome out of this trail.
