Bear Cave trail is a walk under, around, through and over gigantic sandstone boulders. The huge rocks form a number of rock shelters and narrow passageways. You can wander through these stone monoliths or walk to the edge of the bluff for great scenic views of the surrounding valley.

Easy and fast trail. Caves are really cool and the scenery is nice, but definitely wanted to do a second trail after. Probably good for any ages/skill level.

little confusing, All Trails app is incorrect because it includes the half-mile to Mather Lodge on the Boy Scout Trail. this Trail is easy and has great rock formations and outcroppings. If young enough climb then and see The View

A little harder than we anticipated, but we had a kid who started not feeling well that morning and we eventually found out had come down with the flu. All the kids enjoyed it and our two year old was even able to get down and walk some and not be stuck in a carrier the whole time. The “caves” are awesome and we had a blast climbing on all the rocks. Will go back when my son is feeling better to climb some more.

Highly recommend this trail for people with small kids and dogs. The trail gets kinda close to the road a couple times, but it's nothing to worry about. It's pretty easy to stay on the trail because it's well marked.

Very fun trail. Pretty short. Awesome places to take pictures with all of the rock formations. My husband ran up to the top of some large boulders and then helped pull me up. Amazing views up there! Just kind of tricky getting down. We had a great time!

Short trail with lots of rock features to explore. Great for small children or older kids that want to scramble on boulders. Hiked on 10/16 with 9 and 12 year old.

Fun little trail with lots of rock to climb around on. Be careful not to get lost in the maze of rock though.

Super fun super short. The “ cave “ a giant tumble of huge boulders ... is super fun to scramble around in... although there is a sign at visitors center that says “ no climbing in the park “ very little elevation change. Can easily be completed by even the smallest kiddos

Used the 1/2 mile connector trail from the Cedar Falls trail / lodge. Interesting rock formations.

Started this trail from the Mather Lodge trailhead. Easy out-and-back trail that is well marked. The trail started out pretty plain but there was a nice payoff at the end with some nice rock formations, couple slot like canyon sections. Also a small cave. You can also start this trail at the opposite end as there is a parking lot there as well so if you want to skip the .5 mile walk from the lodge to the formations just park there.

This was such a fun trail! We took three kids ages 9, 9, and (almost) 5. They had a blast climbing on and through the massive boulders! Good shoes are a must - there are a TON of roots sticking out of the ground, the rocks are slippery, and even the wooden supports are uneven and my son fell 4-5 times while we were there.

i stop here 1-26-2019 trying to get to the Petit Jean Overlook and Gravesite before sunrise. but miss it by an 1/2 hour. even tho the overlook isn't on alltrails you must stop there. the park ranger was going to do a tour on this trail so i waited since i have always done self guided in the parks. the ranger was awesome and the trail was great. even saw and tiny ice flower. out of all the parks i have been in arkansas petit jean takes the cake. 10 stars in my book. january was the prefect time to go. it seem like a cool fall day. if i get another chance i'm going to spend a few days here. this trail will not disappoint.
