Granite boulders, mountain views, family friendly There are about 4 access points to this trail. Pick up a more detailed trail map at the ranger station when you first enter the park. From the first parking lot you'll easily find the trailhead. The trail winds through yuccas, oaks, and mesquites. A great part of this hike are the numerous trail junctions along the way that give you the flexibility to make it a longer or shorter hike depending on time and other factors. The trail itself is very easy, well marked, and in great condition. You'll find different benches along the way and even a shelter for shade. We did this hike with our 3 children (4, 2, and 10 months). It is a great trail for children because of the ease as well as the trail junctions to give you options. You'll find great views of granite boulders, the Santa Catalina Mountains, and the Galiuro Mountains. While you're there make sure an visit the Kannally Ranch House. There's a little gift shop and a ranger available for any questions.
