Great hike. Due to recent rains water was running in the streams. We crossed streams twice getting up to the end of the horse trail. There’s a small waterfall just beyond the end of the stock trail.

The section of Wildhorse that runs between the stock bypass and the intersection with Garwood is predominantly loose sand underfoot, tracking through the Bajada wash for a while. As you move in and out of the wash, you'll encounter a couple of sets of stone retaining steps designed to hold the sand in place. If you prefer more compacted footing, choose the Garwood trail instead.
